A surreal short film homage to our DTLA studio

Filmed during the height of the pandemic, our small crew shot this project socially distanced in a backyard family-style.

We re-imagined our DTLA popup studio (and former flower warehouse) Basic Flowers as a fantasy wonderland short film adventure. We created a model set of the iconic DTLA building and surrounding skyline. Using the sets and costumes from our time in the popup studio, the simple premise involves collecting flowers from various costumed characters and presenting them to the operatic diva reigning over the space. Hint: It ends in a dance party ascending to the sky.
